We are committed to making NMUN affordable for all students.

Scholarship Initiatives.
Since the late 1990s, NCCA has annually sponsored schools with a multi-year grant to attend NMUN. Awardees must demonstrate financial need as well as how they will contribute to the diversity of NMUN.

Past recipients include historically black colleges and universities as well as schools with diverse Latino and American Indian populations.

Since 2005, the NCCA also has awarded assistance to one international delegation each year. Past recipients include groups from Iraq, Afghanistan and Latvia.

The three-year grant cycle is $5,000 in year one, $2,500 in year two, and fee waivers in
year three.

Brian John Hayden Grants.
In honor of a former NMUN Secretary-General, we offer eight grants annually in increments of $1,000 or $500. Half are awarded to U.S. schools and the other half are given to non-U.S. schools. Criteria include contribution to the diversity of the conference and financial need.

Gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of U.S. law. U.S. Government employees may also donate through the Combined Federal Campaign Code11538.

NCCA | FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

NCCA has established two scholarship funds to continue adding diverse voices to our Model UN conferences: the Diversity-Building Scholarship Fund and the International Scholarship Fund. The International Delegation Scholarship Fund will focus on assisting delegations from developing countries while the diversity-building fund will offer grants to encourage diverse voices among the U.S. colleges and universities attending.

Gifts designated to these funds will help build an endowment. Interest revenue will be dedicated to scholarships and supplemented with other resources as these endowments grow.

Among the first gifts to the International Delegation Scholarship Fund were donations from students attending the 2007 NMUN. Their combined donations will help fund a delegation from a developing country to attend the 2008 NMUN!

In 2007, delegations from Afghanistan, Ghana, Guyana, India, Iraq, Kazakhstan and Poland completed the registration process but ultimately were unable to raise the needed funds to attend. NCCA is appealing to both foundations and individuals to help schools like these.

NMUN accepts donations from organizations and individuals that support our mission. Details of our policies, including recognition of gifts, are available for download.  Click the online gift box below to contribute.
